The “VV-XVI” was the original internal-horn Victrola; officially introduced in 1906, it remained the Victrola flagship model for many years. Although it was originally advertised as “Victrola the Sixteenth” (XVI). This was the first commercial product to enclose the horn inside a stylish cabinet. Selling for $200.00 in 1906 ($5,555 in 2019 money) and going to $250.00 towards the end of the production run in 1921 ($3,472 in 2019 money). Some special-finish versions could run as much as $750.00 when new ($10,000-$20,000 in 2019 money).
